Pep threw a rock. It fell on the table.
Pep went to sleep.
The next day the rock was gone.
Pep took a paper and made a horn. "Hector!" yelled Pep
Hector came.
"A rock was here," yelled Pep, "and now it's gone!"
"Was anything under the table?" asked Hector.
"Yes" said Pep, "A bag of flower."
"Did you put anything on the table?" asked Hector.
"A cake" said Pep.
"Did you lift it onto the table? or did you push it?".
"Push it" Pep said.
"Was the rock there where you pushed the cake?" asked Hector.
"Yes" said Pep.
"Was the bag of flower under the rock? and what is the recipe for the cake?" asked Hector.
"You know," Pep said, "cake mix, flower, spreckles, icing and that's all." said Pep.
"You said you used flower" Hector said and "where is the cake?"
"On the table" Pep replied.
"Can I taste that cake?" Hector said.
Hector put his paw in the cake. He took out some cake. Hector put it into his mouth. "Yucks" he said. "What's wrong with this cake?"
"I've tasted it before, it tasted good." said Pep.
Hector spit the piece out. Along came a tooth.
Pep uncovered the piece. It was the rock!
Hector had figured out another case!
